Every time you come near a Scooby Snacks box, you will get a message from one of the gang members.

Now stop right before you get to the box and Daphne will tell you all about this special box. Go to the very end and grab the box to finish Level Classic Japan, Level Start by opening the first two boxes for some pies and proceed to the first hallway where you will find a diagonal row of Scooby Snacks and a box containing a hamburger.

In the next room, you will meet up with a Samurai guard, who will attack you with his sword if you get too close, so pie him immediately when you see him. Collect the row of Scooby Snacks and stop at this point to get a message from Shaggy about the danger in this level. Take out the two ninjas and the Samurai guard here and open the two boxes on either side to collect some pies.

Now you'll come across a rather unusual diagonal row of Scooby Snacks. Collect them and the next two rows that follow, and then open the boxes to get an Extra Chance Token, a pie, and a hamburger. Now, you will come to a stairway with a ninja blocking it. Take him out and collect the pie. Stop at the very top of the staircase to get a message from Fred about your next move, crawling or ducking. Open the box to your right to get a pie.

Crawl under the two sets of spears while you collect some Scooby Snacks or wait until they get out of the way. Get the pie at the end of this room and you'll end up in another hallway where you will find some Scooby Snacks shaped like the top of an arrow and two boxes with a hamburger and a pie. Now, two enemies stand in your way: a samurai and a ninja. Knock them both out and collect the pie, then open the box to get another one. This staircase has Scooby Snacks on each step, except the top one, so collect them and get the dogtag for a checkpoint, then break open the two boxes for a hamburger and a pie.

Here, you will find a sumo wrestler that you need to take down along with a row of Scooby Snacks. The next hallway has a ninja, so take him down and proceed to the next room where you will find some more spears, some Scooby Snacks, and a box. Wait for the spears to move out of the way, and then comes your chance to pound on the box to get a pie.

Collect the snacks on the other and then break open two more boxes after the spears clear out of your way to get a hamburger and a pie. Two more ninja stand between you and the next pie. Take them down and get your reward. There's another set of snacks here, so collect them and go up the next staircase, where you will find two hamburgers and a pie. There's another ninja here, so take him down and you'll come across a new enemy: the red ninja.

Take him down and break open the next box you see to get a pie. Now, this is where things get a little tricky. You must pounce on these three boxes while the spears are out of your way. In these boxes, there are two pies and a hamburger. Get the checkpoint in the next hallway you enter and proceed to find two more ninjas standing in your way. Take them down and the next ninja that follows in the next room, then collect the Scooby Snacks, jump the gap, and break open the box to get a pie.

Pie this red ninja that you see and collect eight more Scooby Snacks after you take down the ninja with a pie. The next box has a hamburger in it, so break it open and defeat this red ninja to advance. There is an Extra Chance Token at the end of this room, so collect it and open the next three boxes in the hallway to get three pies. Just before you enter the next room, a ninja will appear and so will a message. Get Velma's message and she will tell you that there is even more danger ahead, so be very careful here.

Another Samurai will appear out of nowhere, so take him down along with the ninja and collect seven more Scooby Snacks. Break open the box at the end of this room to get a pie. Take down the two red ninjas in this hallway and collect yet another row of Scooby Snacks. Pie the ninja in the 2nd-to-last hallway before you reach the end and open the last three boxes to get a pie and two hamburgers.

The last hallway has a Samurai, some Scooby Snacks, and a pie. Take down the Samurai, then collect the goodies to proceed to the last room where a ninja is waiting for you that is blocking your path. Give him a good pie shot, then collect the Scooby Snacks box to complete Level It's now time for the first boss fight of the game! But you can if you do it right.

Every boss that you fight needs 3 hits from your pies to be defeated, and if you don't hit any boss with a pie during your chance, he will go back to starting position. Listen very carefully to what Velma has to say about the bosses, because if you defeat them, you will get back to safety.

For this first fight, pay very close attention to the warrior's patterns. First, he will jump to a random path and throw curved fireballs at you, so stay away from them at all costs.

Then, he will charge at you with his sword, which will give you your chance to hit him with a pie. On the second turn, he will do an extra charge at you and do a flip back to the starting position, so be prepared for that. On the third and final turn, he will only attack with his sword three times. After the third pie attacks the Shogun, he's defeated, you get the Scooby Snacks box, and you will leave Japan for good.

Ancient Rome, Level This time, you will be playing with Shaggy. To start, open the first two pots to get some pies, then climb up the steps to find another pot with a pie in it. Now, this is where it gets a little tricky you must time your jumps on the moving platforms very carefully to make it to the other side, where you will find a row of Scooby Snacks. Now you will meet up with two bone-throwing skeletons, who will try to knock you off of this narrow path that you're on.

After you make it past the first skeleton, stop here to get a message from Daphne about them. Then, throw a pie at each of these foes and break open the pot to get a hamburger. Collect the row of Scooby Snacks here, as well. Step onto the platform that will take you down to a much lower path, where you will find three more Scooby Snacks. Now you must double jump onto the next piece of the path, where you will find the first checkpoint.

There are two more pots here, as well, with a hamburger and a pie. This next jump is a very critical one, because there is a really big gap standing between you and the next piece of this path. Jump up in the air, and then at the highest point of your jump, jump again to reach the next piece of the path.

The platform you will land on will drop, so get off quickly. Jump onto the next narrow platform as well as the next part of this path, collecting Scooby Snacks along the way.

There is also a pot that needs to be broken, because it has a pie in it. Jump onto the next platform, and then to the end of this path, where you will find a spring-loaded platform with a set of footprints on it. Jump onto it and it will bounce you up to a higher path, where you will meet up with four more bone-throwing skeletons.

Put a pie in each of their faces and break open the pots to get 2 more pies and a hamburger. Now, you will come to the brick path, which will lead all the way to the end of the level. There is a set of Scooby Snacks at the start of this path, so collect them and then get the second checkpoint dogtag.

Now, there are two guards standing in your way, so you'll need to time this move perfectly. When they raise their axes to the upright position, that's your chance to make your move. There are some Scooby Snacks, three more pots, and a bone-throwing skeleton in this area. Take out the skeleton, collect the snacks, and break open the pots to get two pies and a hamburger, while timing your jumps perfectly.

Take out the three pots you see ahead of you and then break open the next three pots to get two more pies and a hamburger. Now, you will meet up with a Skeleton Swordsman, ready to take you down. Before he does, hit him with a pie and collect the Scooby Snacks to advance. On this kind of V-shaped platform, there are two pots on either side.

Break them open to get a pie and a hamburger. Jump onto the moving platform and onto the next one to get another set of Scooby Snacks. Double jump to the next platform and break open the next two pots to get some more pies. Now you will need to double jump from column to column to reach the next platform. There are also some Scooby Snacks that you can grab here, too. Get the next checkpoint and Shaggy will say a classic line from the Cyber Chase animated move that you have to hear.

Here comes another tricky part of this level. You will need to jump onto the moving platform, onto the columns over to the other side while you collect some snacks, onto the narrow platform, onto the moving platform, over to the next narrow platform, collecting this set of snacks, onto the last moving platform, and then double jump over to the last two platforms to reach the checkpoint and Scooby Snacks.

This next moving platform you will need to jump onto is moving from side to side and there are two Scooby Snacks on wither side, so you will need to time this jump perfectly. Make a double jump over to this short path and break open the pot to collect a pie. Jump onto this moving platform going up and down and onto the next platform to get some more Scooby Snacks. Now, for the trickiest part of this jumping fest you must jump onto the last three moving platform with perfect timing over to the stairs.

Go up them and grab the Scooby Snacks and this checkpoint dogtag. Along the way, there will be a whinny coming from straight ahead. Stop right here and get this message from Fred, who will tell you about the Skeleton Gladiator. You will need to keep up the pace to stay ahead of him, because he will charge at you, while he knocks down the columns that are standing in this way.

There are also some Scooby Snacks and even an Extra Chance Token at the end of this path where the Skeleton and his chariot horse will get stuck. Jump onto the next platform and collect some more snacks, then break open the pot to collect a pie.

Double jump over this gap and collect the last of the snacks in this level, and then break open three more pots to get two more pies and a hamburger. The Scooby Snacks Box is at the very end of this path, and if you grab it, Level is over and done. Start by collect the Scooby Snacks in front of you and going into the first hallway where you will find two guards and some more snacks. Get them, while you avoid the axes and move on to the next area, where you will find two pots and a whole bunch of snacks scattered in various places.

Open the pots to get two pies and then open two more pots to get a hamburger and a pie. Get past this guard and enter the next hallway, where you will find a checkpoint, some more Scooby Snacks, a Skeleton Gladiator, an Extra Chance Token, and two pots. Break open the pots to get two hamburgers, grab all of the other goodies, and take down the Skeleton Gladiator with a pie to advance to the next room, where you will find another guard and two more pots.

The next hallway that you will come across has some Scooby Snacks, two bone-throwing skeletons, and some snacks. Collect the snacks and take down all of the enemies to proceed to the next hallway, where you will find another checkpoint.

Now you will need to get past the guards and knock out the Bone Skeleton. Collect the next set of Scooby Snacks and proceed to the next part of this really long hallway to find two pots that have a pie and hamburger in them. The next part of this hallway has four guards, two bone-throwing skeletons, and some Scooby Snacks.

Get past these guards and knock out the skeletons, then collect the Scooby to advance to yet another hallway. There are two more pots and some Scooby Snacks over a gap that you need to jump over. The pots have hamburgers in them.

Take out the Skeleton Gladiator that you see here and advance to the next hallway to find another guard, a bone-throwing skeleton that needs to be busted, some more snacks, and two more pots that have a pie and a hamburger in them. The next part of this hallway that you will enter has yet another bone-throwing skeleton that you need to take out, but you have to make it past the guard first. The next part of this really long and confusing hallway has three Scooby Snacks and a pot with a pie in it.

Get past this guard here and you will come to the end of this super long hallway with seven guards, a bone-throwing skeleton that has to be knocked out, and a whole bunch of Scooby Snacks. At the very end of this crazy maze are three pots that have pies in them. Knock out the Skeleton Swordsman standing in your way and collect the Scooby Snacks box to end Level Well, if you have, then you will need to face this ferocious lion, who stands in between you and victory.

This battle will start with four Skeleton Gladiators armed with spears. They will throw eight of them two sets of four each at you, one at a time on the first turn, but on the second turn, they will throw twelve spears at you three sets of four each in the same fashion, making it a little more difficult to steer clear of them, and then they will throw all four spears at the same time on the last turn. You will need to try to avoid these spears until the lion comes out.

On the first round, he will do five jumping attacks and then he will get tired. This will be your chance to nail him with a pie. But, in the second round, he will charge attack you five times, and in the third round, he will skip and then jump attack three times. In other words, you will need to try to avoid the lion's fierce attacks.

After three hits from your pie, this lion is history. The instructions are unclear and confusing, the design is dreadful and the challenges are desperate and dependent on luck. The best thing in Cyber Chase is the picture of the Scooby Gang in the middle of the board.

Everything else about the game looks and feels cheap. The board itself is sturdy but covered in dreadful artwork most of which has little to do with Scooby-Doo! The 'cards' are thin, basic and a little pointless. Even the playing pieces are moulded from such shiny, garish plastic, it's difficult to make out the lumpy detail. This is probably for the best, though - Velma looks like the granny in Tweety and Sylvester.

All in all, this would be a worthwhile bonus if it came free in a box of Cornflakes but, even if you see it somewhere for a fiver, think carefully before paying for it. That white thing on a blue background - that's a magnet Conclusion : If you have any creative talent whatsoever, you could make a better Scooby-Doo!

You could even have proper Scooby-Doo! Failing that, you could just get the kids to throw beanbags into a bucket while watching a Scooby DVD. It would still be better than Cyber Chase.
