My wife's computer had the same problem. I fixed it by clicking on the 3 dots on the "pop-up" and options came up to turn off all notifications in Microsoft Edge, when I did that the "pop-up's" stopped. I have changed all the relevant settings to stop Pop Ups but still hourly receive McAfee pop ups like this.

I have uninstalled the McAfee software and have installed other Virus software but I continually get these pop ups. I know that I can stop them on my Mac.

To disable the notifications:. Similar thing happened on my wife's computer. One point I will add to the above: website popup notifications are often made to look like legitimate Windows notifications and hence it is hard to tell if it is real one or not. For Edge pop-up notifications, EACH of them contained the name of the website under the notification which helped me identify them as such.

All "scary" notifications contained the same website name. When you get into this state or you are reading this because you "googled it", the key is not to interact with the notification do not click on "remove virus" or whatever it might say and understand where it might be coming from. Then going into the Edge settings and seeing that you may have a recent website added with "allow notifications" on it.

If you get notifications just after restarting the computer with no browsers running or anything else explicitly started, you may have some of the bloatware installed often comes with the new computer itself and these might be legit notifications. You may find there some notification programs that bring reminders to install additional software. Disabling them will stop notifications. Couple of thoughts: 1. Decide what you want your virus to do.

Once your virus has infected a system, what do you want it to do? Effects can range from nothing, to displaying a message, to deleting files, and much worse. Be aware that creating and spreading a malicious virus is a serious crime in the most countries.

Choose a language. In order to create a virus, you will need to have at least a basic understanding of at least one computer language or scripting tool. More complex viruses often involve several languages. For really effective viruses, you will need to be familiar with assembly languages. If you want to make macro viruses, learn the macro language for your target programs such as Microsoft Office. Visual Basic can be used to create malicious programs for Windows users.

Start writing your virus. This will be a long process, especially if this is your first time coding something. Experiment as much as possible, and research ways to replicate your code depending on the language you are using.

There are tutorials on forums and community blogs for a variety of languages. Research polymorphic code. This will alter the code of your virus every time it replicates, making it difficult to track with antivirus programs. Polymorphic code is fairly advanced, and is implemented differently in every language. Research ways to hide your code. Besides polymorphic coding, there are other ways to hide your virus. Encryption is a very common tool used by virus developers.

It takes a lot of practice and reading, but it can go a long way in increasing the lifespan of your virus. Test your virus. Once you have a prototype up and running, test it out on as many different machines and setups as possible. This will be easiest if you are able to set up virtual machines in different configurations. Make sure that you keep your tests contained so that you don't accidentally release your virus before you are ready.

Put the test machines on an isolated network and see the effects of the virus spreading. Adjust your virus's code as you observe it working on the test machines. Fix any issues that it runs into. Release your virus. If you're satisfied with your virus's performance, it's time to release it.

Before you do, however, ask yourself if you're prepared to face any consequences that may come from releasing a virus into the wild. Jessen P. Hi, Thank you for being part of Windows I appreciate you for trying some steps in order to get the issue resolved.

Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and see if it helps. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to Jessen P's post on August 6, I tried this several times but did not fix the no sound issue. This is how mine was fixed If reinstalling the driver doesn't work, then try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows.

In reply to oladeji koledade's post on November 22, Hi, Thank you for the update on the issue. I just updated to windows 10, based on the promise that all your files will be just as you left them. I wasn't aware I needed to ask if I could still open or use any of them. Since the update, I can no longer watch any of the video files I have on my PC. Which is almost the only reason I own my PC. This makes me feel like I was coerced into updating to an inferior product, that renders my PC into a substantially oversized paperweight.

I would like to know how to fix this please. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mayank Gupta Hi, I would suggest you to check all the available Windows Updates.
