They also offer the dolby atmos mastering software for windows so why not the production suite? Seems like ot would be a simple port. I too wish they would, but have not heard that this is in the works. Or maybe they got a deal some way or another which keeps them on Macs. I seriously doubt it has to do with just not having gotten around to it. It's been available for what, at least two and a half years now? Something like that. This is only speculation on my part, but I suspect it has more to do with the Dolby Audio Bridge.

I am unfortunately glad to see there are others having this same issue and not wanting to go over to Mac if not needed. The game development community is not tied to Macs. Same here. If you want to get into Atmos, you still have to do it their way and you're going to need a lot of money.

It's not even close. It may be that there are so many different PC's and motherboards that it makes qualifying a PC for Dolby Atmos that much more difficult. In Post in the US it's predominantly Macs. They are as open as they almost never were with Atmos. The production suite costs next to nothing and you need no studio certification either.

Say you're a musician and got yourself an Atmos mix on your mac, what now? You can't upload the master file to bandcamp or soundcloud and you can't send it to your friends.

Actually, you can. I have commercial music mixes that have been released publicly in this format. Fair enough, didn't know that. Only tidal HiFi will give you a 'true' atmos experience on headphones and all other content will simply be spatialized.

Same for PCs. But if you'd send me an Atmos mp4 file, it would probably not play back at all or just fold down to normal stereo, instead of a binaural headphone mix. Sorry, that is just not true.
