Their personal best scores started out around the site average of 14 and then steadily climbed to more than 25 over the year that we tracked them. Recommendation : Aim to play two Puzzle Rush games on most days. This habit leads to faster pattern recognition and essential chess instincts.
The best part about Puzzle Rush is that you learn without even knowing it, and it's also fun. Like with Puzzle Rush, it seems that a slight difference in using Lessons makes a big difference in results. Our fast improvers completed just one more lesson per week than those who did not improve as quickly. Recommendation : Try to complete one Lesson per day. Each lesson takes just about five minutes to complete, but the overall impact on your game really adds up over time.
All players can improve their chess games, but like any other skill, it takes consistent engagement and some time. Just do one or two and you can move closer to the ideal compared to your current habits. Over time, any consistent efforts you make to follow these recommendations even a little bit will result in improvements to your chess game.
Good luck! Updated: Dec 10, , PM. Question, have you recieved any honest person to person endorsements of a directed system? I think, it is very difficult to properly fine tune an 'eclectic system'- to rigourously work through your weaknesses. I think. I didn't endorse any of the programs, due to the fact I haven't had any personal experience with them. If you look at the unofficial ICS forums linked above , they provide a good sense of a number of people's experiences with the program, which have been generally positive.
The Chess. Yusupov's book series has received favorable reviews, although I don't know of anyone who has actually gone through all of it as an amateur. I find it interesting that you have not gravitated towards either Jeremy silman or Dan heisman's prolific writings in your training program. I have silman's Reasses your chess, the Amateurs mind and this Endgame tome as well. I think its goes well, with a heiman, book , " the most instructive amateur game book".
I think it MIGHT be possible to have a program with very little resources espacially without a coach. I've noticed some speak to me better at one time or another. I also would warn others not to be too distracted by the wide diversity of books.
I've even run into resources; that were never made into a book and offered free on the internet. Within each header you specify a certain number of hours [20 hours], but are we talking per week, per month, year?
